Upon completion of an associate’s degree or two-year certificate from Ranken, students are eligible to enroll in the Bachelor of Science in Applied Management (BSAM) program—and could graduate with a bachelor’s degree in as little as two short years. Flexible evening and weekend courses throughout the year are specifically designed to accommodate the needs of the working adult.

Geared towards Ranken graduates who wish to advance in their chosen careers and industries, the BSAM offers a unique educational blend designed to transform highly-skilled technicians into successful managers. The program combines Ranken’s top-quality technical education with managerial and business courses, along with the communications and marketing skills needed to be competitive in the 21st century. Students who graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Management will have opportunities for greater career advancement and financial rewards.

Like all Ranken programs, the BSAM program is not just an education; it’s on-the-job training – training that companies respect and look for when hiring.

BSAM curriculum consists of 13 core courses grouped into six clusters with general education courses. A three credit hour capstone project completes the student’s coursework. Course Descriptions.

Requirements

Admissions requirements include a degree or certificate from Ranken’s day-school program; a two-year certificate from our continuing education program; or an application for transfer from a regionally accredited institution with a technical associate’s degree. Applications for admission through transfer credit will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Letters of recommendation from past faculty or employers, providing evidence of the prospective student’s work ethic may also be required.

Students may transfer courses into the program. Official transcripts will be required for evaluation. A minimum of 30 semester hours of BSAM management courses must be completed at Ranken Technical College, including the capstone project and all outcomes assessment activities related to general education courses. Overall, graduation from the program will require a minimum of 63 semester hours.

Ranken certificate graduates must enroll in the College’s "Work Experience and Occupational Training" course in order to receive the technical credit necessary to enter the BSAM program. Certificate graduates must also complete the same general education requirements as Ranken’s day-school associate degree graduates.
