Student Recreation Center
Opened in the fall of 2004, Ranken's Student Recreation Center provides space for students to relax between classes. Featuring wireless internet access, a snack bar and a full suite of fitness equipment, the student recreation center is a great addition to Ranken's campus life.
Full-service computer labs
Ranken has 5 computer labs on campus with approximately 75-85 computers available to students. Hours vary by lab. There are also several wireless access points on campus that are available for student access via laptops.
On-site cafeteria & snack bar
Ranken has an on-site cafeteria which serves hot meals throughout most of the day, along with an assortment of snacks and drinks. Stop by for breakfast or just some coffee in the mornings, and at lunch try something from the sandwich bar, the soup bar or the hot meal of the day, or just grab a soda! The College also has a snack bar (located in the Student Recreation Center) which serves sandwiches, sodas and other snacks, and has expanded evening hours to serve our continuing education students.
Library
The Ranken Technical College library fulfills its mission to support and enrich the curriculum and provide for the information needs of the College by providing access to a comprehensive high-quality collection of multimedia resources for the use of the students, faculty, staff and alumni of Ranken Technical College. All of its resources and services are developed to support users in the achievement of learning goals in both the technical and general education areas.
This full-service, multimedia library contains more than 18,000 books, pamphlets and audiovisuals, as well as a large collection of daily newspapers, professional journals and periodicals. The library is equipped with an automated cataloged that contains all of its resources. Additionally, numerous subscription databases are available through Ranken’s membership in MOREnet, and computers are equipped with Internet access and Microsoft Office applications.
The library provides pleasant and inviting spaces for student learning in three spacious and comfortable rooms: a reference and quiet study room, a circulation and classroom area, and a glassed-in bridge containing periodicals, reading areas, and space for socializing. A professional librarian is on hand to provide assistance as needed.
Hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, when classes are in session.
Security & Parking
Ranken's secure campus includes gated student parking and a professional 24-hour security staff.
Housing Options
Ranken Technical College has partnered with the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL) to provide low-cost housing to Ranken Students. Housing expenses can be covered through Federal Financial Aid or paid directly through Ranken as part of the student’s educational expenses. Contact the admissions office for more details.
In addition to the UMSL housing arrangement, the Student Activities Center maintains a listing of apartments available in the area.
Coming in 2008! The College is in the process of constructing an on-campus dormitory, (see concept above) which is planned to open in the fall of 2008. For the first time in Ranken's history, we will have an on-campus housing option for our students.
