Academics
Automotive Import Technology
The Automotive Import Technology (AIT) program prepares students to perform work in an Import dealership by exposing them to curriculum and equipment that is more brand specific than the general automotive classes. The curriculum includes technology common to all vehicles, but has specific emphasis on the Toyota/Lexus Technicians Education Network (T-TEN) and the Honda/Acura Professional Automotive Career Training (PACT) program. Ranken is one of three colleges that has been authorized to combine the Toyota T-TEN and Honda PACT into one program. Lecture classes are based on both T-TEN and PACT; however, hands-on training is brand specific.

Beginning fall 2013, students in this program will experience eight weeks in the classroom and shop and then will work eight weeks at an Import sponsoring dealership under the supervision of a mentor technician selected by the sponsoring dealer. This cycle continues throughout the program providing AIT students with real-world hands-on experience. The Toyota T-TEN and Honda PACT programs are specifically designed to help individuals build their automotive career within a Toyota, Lexus, Honda or Acura dealership.
Any student enrolled in the Automotive program is eligible for the Automotive Import Technology program; however, the student must have a clean driving record. Having a clean driving record, a valid driver's license, being at least 18 years old, the ability to pass a drug test and the ability to safely operate a manual transmission vehicle are required to be eligible for employment with Toyota and Honda dealerships after graduation.
T-TEN/PACT Graduation Requirements

- Pass two Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications
* Ranken's graduation requirements remain the same.
